Drum and Dance

  • Minneapolis American Indian Center 1530 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis, MN, 55404 (map)

Drum and Dance is being held from AT AN UPDATED TIME FROM 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. due to community safety concerns regarding ongoing ICE activity in the community. Virtual participation is encouraged, but the event also takes place in person.

Drum and Dance is typically every Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the center’s Frances Fairbanks Memorial Gymnasium. The event is also livestreamed on the Culture Language Arts Network Facebook page.

Dance categories include Hoop Dance, Woman’s Fancy, Women’s Jingle, and Grass Dance.
It is a great opportunity to practice, learn, and prepare in community for the powwow season. The event is open to people at all levels and experiences – whether a person regularly travels on the powwow circuit or has never attended a powwow before.
