Riso 101

  • Workshop for Independent Publishing 900 West 50th Street Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55419 (map)

Learn to operate the WIP risographs during this two session orientation in order to use them independently. Learn how to switch ink colors and register multiple color layers. We will cover two ways to separate an image into layers for printing: manually and digitally.

While it’s true that independent publishing often functions on the margins with a minimum of resources, Workshop for Independent Publishing recognizes a need for reliable access to printing and binding equipment, in a space that is artist friendly and dedicated to the activity of publishing. While they take a broad view of publishing, they expect WIP to be especially useful to people making zines, chapbooks, comics, pamphlets, and artist publications.
