Gao Hong, a 2025 Transglobal World Music Hall of Fame inductee, is a pipa master, composer, educator, and improviser. She graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music, where she studied with renowned pipa (Chinese lute) master Lin Shicheng. She serves as the professor of Chinese Musical Instruments at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
Principal Cello of the Minnesota Orchestra, Anthony Ross has been a soloist many times with the group, performing concertos by Dvorák, Victor Herbert, James MacMillan, Beethoven, Saint-Saëns, Elgar and Shostakovich, among others, as well as many chamber works. Away from Orchestra Hall, Ross is active as a chamber musician, festival performer and educator.
